Hello, I’m Qin

Two people. One body.
Maybe you know this feeling too.
A relationship is hurting you. Part of you can see it clearly, and you know something has to change. And yet, when the moment comes to leave, let go, choose differently, or turn back toward yourself, something still pulls you back.
I know that feeling because I lived it.
I went through a relationship in which, little by little, my life began to revolve around someone else. Their closeness could lift my whole day; their distance could undo it. I watched their moods, questioned my worth, and made myself smaller because I was afraid of being left.
Eventually, I barely recognised the person I had become.
It felt like two people living in one body.
One part of me knew the relationship was damaging my life.
The other was still too deeply attached to let go.
I tried to leave more than once. Each time, I went back.
The hardest part was not seeing what was happening.
It was understanding how one part of me could know so clearly while another part still couldn’t let go.
Knowing wasn’t the problem.
When we’re in a relationship like this, people around us often say the same things:
Why don’t you just leave?
You know this isn’t good for you.
You need to be stronger.
…
But I already knew.
What I needed to understand was what kept overriding what I knew.
Why someone else’s attention had come to mean so much about my worth. Why their distance could consume so much of my mind. Why losing them could feel more frightening than losing more of myself.
That understanding changed the questions I was asking.
Instead of:
Why are they doing this?
What do they feel?
How do I stop them from leaving?
I began asking:
What am I feeling?
What do I need?
What is mine to choose?
That shift — from organising my inner world around someone else to finding my own reference point again — became the beginning of Lead Your Own Life.
LYOL is not here to tell us who to leave, whether to stay, or how we should feel.
It is here to help us understand what pulls us away from ourselves, hear our own judgment again, and make choices that are truly ours.
And finding ourselves again is only the beginning. From there, we can turn relationship pain into a self-led life.
Three ways back to yourself
The Videos
Lead Your Own Life · YouTube
Most of us were never taught how to love — we learned how to survive. So we overthink distance, question our worth, and lose ourselves trying to be enough for someone else.
The videos explore anxious attachment, emotional unavailability, fear of abandonment, and the relationship patterns that can slowly pull us away from ourselves.
A place to understand what is happening — and begin seeing ourselves more clearly.
The Guides
Free Guides · Guided Journals · Workbooks
Understanding something is one thing. Learning how to work through it ourselves is another.
These resources help us practise a clearer way of looking at what is happening:
Notice. Separate. Discern. Choose. Return.
Not to give us the answer — but to strengthen our ability to see what is happening, weigh what we know, and make choices from our own judgment.
Guided journals give us space to stay with what we are noticing over time — our feelings, needs, patterns, choices, and the parts of ourselves we may have stopped hearing.
Different ways to practise bringing our attention back to ourselves.
The LYOL App
Waiting List
For the moments when our attention gets pulled away from ourselves
Sometimes we understand all of this — and then one message, one silence, or one change in someone’s behaviour pulls our attention straight back to them.
That is the moment the LYOL App is built for.
It helps us pause, recognise what is happening, separate what belongs to us from what is not ours to decide, and hear our own judgment again — with as much or as little support as we need.
It does not decide whether we should stay or leave.
It helps us hear ourselves clearly enough to choose.
